We R Makers, formerly known as We R Memory Keepers, is the American Crafts brand
that develops new crafting supplies and tools.

MY ROLE - Product Design

Shortly after We R Memory Keepers joined the American Crafts family, they were looking to redesign their popular Crafter’s Bag. When they approached me with this project, they let me know that the biggest issue with selling bags and suitcases is that they take up too much space on retailers shelves and in shipping crates. They gave me the challenge of designing a bag that was collapsible (making it more cost effective).

I’ve included three photos below of the initial paper mock-up I made to show the We R Memory Keepers and American Crafts executive team my concept. My design would start out flat, fold open, and then zip up on the sides, creating a traditional scrapbook tote. I then worked with the We R Memory Keeper’s sourcing team and factory to modify their existing bag to make it collapsible.
